Liberty Wood Products and Southern Heritage Wood Products Merge

Liberty Wood Products and Southern Heritage Wood Products are excited to announce a merger between the two locally owned companies effective September 2009.

Southern Heritage Wood Products moved into the 30,000 sq/ft Liberty Wood Products facility located on Iotla Church Road in Iotla Valley in Franklin, NC.  This merger will allow the two businesses to expand their production of wood products both custom and traditional for the homebuilder and contractor. 

The showroom has been redesigned to showcase the many options in cabinetry, doors, flooring, paneling, and counter tops.  Everything for new home construction, remodeling projects, or commercial applications will be available to the customer at one location.
 
Since 1985, Liberty Wood Products has manufactured pre-finished eastern white pine tongue and groove paneling, rustic exterior siding, flooring, doors, moulding, trim products, kitchen cabinets, butcher block counter tops, and custom millwork.  The facility houses a large production area from concept to finished products.  Liberty Wood Products also has green finishes available.  Don Hill, Manager, and Dave Henderson, Sales; provide customers with attention and service focused on the construction industry.  

Hill commented, “I am very excited about the future. This merger will automatically increase the product lines and the awareness in the market place for both companies. Although the market is still slow, we know that it will rebound and we want to be ready for it. We’re making the changes necessary to become one of the premiere providers of quality wood products for the home builder and home owner as well.”
 
Southern Heritage was formed in 1999 b y owners Michael Maloy and Richard Watson.  Both Mike and Richard have many years of experience as wood craftsmen through hands on experience and education.  The company specializes in custom cabinetry, closets, counter tops, millwork, flooring, and doors.  Each use their creativity for consulting and design work to give the homeowner a design that fits their style and site with a custom look and feel.

Two heads are better than one and in our case two business are better than one.  We both are stronger by coming together because of what we can offer.  We can cover such a broad spectrum of products now and are moving forward developing new products” stated Watson.

Maloy added, “It’s a great mix. The two businesses together will be strong. We now have the capability of supplying many different wood products for all kinds of projects.
